About Our Pastor

A Heart for the Valley Josh Taylor first came to Baggs as a high school senior, and the people here have been on his heart ever since. After years of farming, trucking, and ranching in Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming, Josh and his wife, Carla, felt the call to return to the Little Snake River Valley in 2025 to plant deep roots and serve this community.

Life & Ministry Josh brings a "boots on the ground" ministry style to Battle Mountain Community Church. Between pastoring and his full-time role as a bus driver for LSRV Schools, he is dedicated to meeting people exactly where they are. His primary mission is to help others find their way to Jesus and to ensure that everyone in the Valley has a spiritual home.

The Taylor Family The Taylor family is spread across the region but remains closely knit. Josh and Carla have four sons: their eldest, Nathan and Clifton, are now young adults building their lives in Southwestern Nebraska. Their younger two, Ryan and Lane, are currently finishing high school at LSRV. Clifton and his wife, Nicole, have also added a second generation to the family with their two children.

Whether they are at a track meet, a football game, or listening to Ryan and Lane practice as they pursue their paths as professional musicians, you’ll see the Taylors active in the community. As a family, they are committed to being a supportive, approachable part of the Little Snake River Valley.
